I have the honor of providing a break-out session at Inspire 2019 in Des Moines. The conference is designed to help the church grow in its understanding of and application of sound nutrition and fitness principles. Speakers will focus on both body and soul. (Not gonna lie, it’s more than a little intimidating seeing my photo next to Becky Tirabassi’s in that promo poster…)

My topic is:

A Biblical View of Body Image When Your Body Fails You

Our culture tells us that our physical body defines our value. Scripture even speaks to the beauty of the feminine form. The Creator of all things designed our bodies, so of course there is value in our physical design. But we also know that God’s focus is on the inside, not the outside. I will use my personal experience with mastectomy and breast reconstruction and my knowledge of the God who created femininity to give my listeners a picture of a healthy Biblical view of body image.
