(The above photo is of some of the girls who received our dresses last year. Take a close look. Maybe you can find one that you made!)

DRESS COUNT – 43   SHORTS COUNT – 13

Sewing For Haiti Day

I am planning a morning of sewing at my house on Saturday, March 31 from 9 -1. It doesn’t matter if you love to sew, wish you knew how to sew or are scared of sewing machines. All skill levels are welcome. We will be pinning patterns, cutting fabric, sewing some dresses and shorts, doing some ironing, drinking some coffee and eating some snacks. If you know in advance that you can make it, let me know. Otherwise, feel free to just show up. I’ve had some generous donations for fabric, so we will have lots of fun fabrics to turn into dresses and shorts.

I am a contributor at CT Women (previously known as Today's Christian Woman where I was a regular contributor as well). I blog monthly at inspireafire.com and have freelanced for a variety of publications including Chicken Soup for the Soul, Guideposts, Thriving Family and Creation Illustrated. Cancer made an unwelcome visit in my breast in January 2016, and I am now working on a book about breast reconstruction after having gone through the insane process myself. My incredible husband of 18 years, Corey, is my biggest writing cheerleader and together we are having a ball raising our three growing boys; Carter 15, Owen 14 and Lewis 10.

  1. Hmmm…. I failed sewing in Junior High. But, maybe I could pin, cut, iron? Count me in!
