Serving Together

It’s amazing how much work can go into so few words. Check out this Thriving Family link about Corey and me. What started as a 600ish word article I submitted at a writer’s conference became a few short paragraphs with some intermingled info from “How Can We Serve God Together?” by Mitch Temple, but I’ve learned that is how the world of writing and publication goes. It was slightly painful deleting, rewriting and writing in Corey’s voice to fit the Thriving Family format, but I choose to consider it a great exercise in the art word selection.

I am a contributor at CT Women (previously known as Today's Christian Woman where I was a regular contributor as well). I blog monthly at and have freelanced for a variety of publications including Chicken Soup for the Soul, Guideposts, Thriving Family and Creation Illustrated. Cancer made an unwelcome visit in my breast in January 2016, and I am now working on a book about breast reconstruction after having gone through the insane process myself. My incredible husband of 18 years, Corey, is my biggest writing cheerleader and together we are having a ball raising our three growing boys; Carter 15, Owen 14 and Lewis 10.

  1. You and Corey are WAY cuter than that couple in the picture!! You should submit your photo next time.

  2. Vicki you made me smile. You are WAY too sweet 🙂
