Life Reconstructed

A Surprise Among the Christmas Cards

After a four day visit to the in-laws (three days of which were very nice – the puking day was not so pleasant) I was happy to sit in front of the fire with a cup of coffee and the stack of Christmas letters and cards that had been piling up in my mailbox while I was gone. But I was even happier to see an envelope from Wind and Water Press among the cards.  In it I found I  had won Honorable Mention in a poetry contest for my poem Dandelion Bouquets which you can read

Yay!!  The poem will be published in Time of Singing, a quarterly poetry magazine.

When I told my boys about it Owen said matter-of-factly, “That’s not surprising.” What a sweet little man I have to have such confidence in his mama. It really was a nice little post-Christmas surprise. 🙂
