Life Reconstructed

Sanctity of Life

Cover 2 copyThis fall I was struck by a comment a college gal made as she left the room of the DMACC class in which I had just finished speaking about pregnancy, abortion and childbirth. Her comment about abortion resonated with me and led to an idea to find people with stories they wanted to tell. Stories about the precious gift of life.

I contacted a few people thinking “if no one responds I’ll just drop the idea.” But people did respond and what I ended up with is 10 devotions and personal stories written by myself and six other women. In each story the value God places on human life is undeniable.

I am thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Tori Haverkamp, Alphonsine Imaniraguha, Kaila Mugford, Laura Rechkemmer, Cala Smoldt and Marie Steenlage on this project.

I will be posting a story every Monday and Thursday of this month (January is Sanctity of Life month) beginning on January 7. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I have.

(I also have all of the stories available in a 24-page printed booklet. Please contact me if you are interested in a hard copy.)

I am a contributor at CT Women (previously known as Today's Christian Woman where I was a regular contributor as well). I blog monthly at and have freelanced for a variety of publications including Chicken Soup for the Soul, Guideposts, Thriving Family and Creation Illustrated. Cancer made an unwelcome visit in my breast in January 2016, and I am now working on a book about breast reconstruction after having gone through the insane process myself. My incredible husband of 18 years, Corey, is my biggest writing cheerleader and together we are having a ball raising our three growing boys; Carter 15, Owen 14 and Lewis 10.
