Meals are amazing during that time! They were so helpful for our family, but I also found that the people who provided them were blessed by doing it. People want so badly to help out and providing a meal is a tangible way of doing that. I hope each day is getting a little better for you.

I am just over 3 weeks out from my mastectomy surgery, and I agree that meals provided by my friends have been a huge blessing. Obviously each meal provides us dinner for the night, but it does even more than that. It allows me to use the energy I do have toward other things my kids need me to do. Plus, having meals provided cuts down on the time and energy needed for meal planning and grocery shopping. Meals provided, whether it is hot and ready at dinner time, something for the freezer, or a gift card, have been a huge blessing to us. In addition to meals, the gift of time has been one of my favorites. Friends and family taking time to stop by, even for a little bit, is very encouraging.
