As she works on completing her first book, Life Reconstructed: A Girlfriend’s Guide to Mastectomies and Breast Reconstruction, which will be published through Familius Publishing in Spring 2021, Harms speaks on a variety of topics, including, but not limited to those listed below.
Breast Cancer/Breast Reconstruction
My Broken Body: A Biblical View of Body Image When Your Body Fails You
Our culture tells us that our physical body defines our value. Scripture even speaks to the beauty of the feminine form. The Creator of all things designed our bodies, so of course there is value in their design, but we also know that God’s focus is on the inside, not the outside. Kim uses her personal experience with mastectomy and breast reconstruction and her knowledge of the God who created her femininity, to give the listener a picture of a healthy Biblical view of body image.
The Pain of Marriage: Fighting to Remain One When Life Pulls Us Apart
During cancer, Corey and I grew more intimate by far than any time in our 17 years of marriage, but we were at the same time blindsided by a battle neither of us could have imagined prior to diagnosis. So as we fought the cancer together, we fought another battle from opposing sides. I will speak of the fight to remain one when walking through high-stress life circumstances.
5 Things I Learned Through Breast Cancer
In this talk, I speak of the things cancer taught me about control, grief, marriage, parenting and supporting people going through hard things.
